Name: Lynn-Lato
Occupation:
Mom and food blogger extrordinaire – and I occasionally help out my friend, w/ his South Charlotte restaurant. I update the content on his website, update his menus help w/ menu changes item ideas and brainstorming.
Neighborhood:
Regrettably(from a food perspective) I live in plain, ole vanilla suburbia, the Marvin/Ballantyne area
Relationship status:
Married w/ children & the suburbia-required yellow lab
What did you eat today?
Broccoli cheddar quiche, bacon & rye toast w/ tea for breakfast & lunch was a boring ham sammie on wheat w/ Italian peppers & mayo – oh, and a tiny sliver of “no sugar added” apple pie from The Fresh Market (I’m a type 1 diabetic)
What do you never eat?
Spam, but that’s not to say I NEVER have. I’ve never had sweetbreads or bone marrow, but hope to some day soon. I’m not a fan of salmon, but can tolerate it when it’s served smoked. Calf & chicken liver is vile, but foie gras is divine!
Complete this sentence: In my refrigerator you can always find…
eggs, bacon, Italian peppers and butter!
What is your favorite kitchen item?
Just one? Impossible! My knives and, although I use it maybe twice a year, I do love my fat separator pitcher. I’m a minimalist when it comes to tools and gadgets but I also love my Kitchenaid stand mixer – which I never, ever wanted but Santa brought me anyway.
Where do you eat most frequently?
Home! But if I had a choice and it was close by, I’d eat at Lulu on Central Ave. often!
World ends tomorrow. What would you like for your last meal?
Hmmm, in no particular order: poached eggs, veal chops, chewy crusty bread, bacon(gotta have “the pig”), prosciutto(pig again) and foie gras. Oops, no vegetables listed. Okay, throw in some beefy ripe tomatoes, please. Wait! Tomatoes are technically a fruit. Okay, how about some broccolini? Oh, and please don’t forget the wine! If I was going big – a grand cru like Chateau Pieure Lichine – 1982.

Her mama-licious blog entry from 10/19 discussed those delicious pasteis de belem, which I have fond memories of devouring almost every day during a trip to Portugal back in my youth (the days of calorie/fat careless eating). Yum.

That was fun! What a neat idea. I look forward to reading about other foodlovers in our hood. :)
p.s. I noticed I use an awful lot of exclamation marks. I need to reign that in. See, right there, I wanted to use another exclamation mark. Wasn’t it Eric B. & Rakim who said, “It’s a habit – I gotta use it”?

Thanks again for your participation. Furthermore, I’m filled with a warm, fuzzy, old school kinda joy that Erik B. & Rakim have been quoted on my blog. My work is done.
